One from the vault...

Hannah Lindroth kicked the night off with a journey through her amazing vocals and tumbling lyrical melodies....and ironic humor. Her sweetly breaking voice reminded me of the darker shades of Joni Mitchell and Sheryl Crow and her writing was McCartney-esque at times with beautiful changes and tales of the world. I am still vibing hard on a song of hers called Copernicus. Do check it out.

Holding Back Entirely did nothing like their name would suggest. Their set was acoustic but ferocious as well. The band's fine songwriting and arrangements are given just opportunity to shine in this configuration (sans drummer) and the response seems to continue to only get better with each show. Todd (lead guitar) definitely reminds me of Peter Buck (which is totally rad) and Andrea as I've learned is an incredibly tasteful bass player. Good stuff.

"One From The Vault" the collaborative closing bit of this month's On The FLY@92Y was truly enjoyable, and I played a song called "Hesitate" which I decided in a moment of revelation 3 minutes before leaving my apartment. I hadn't touched it in over a year but remarkably I think it went over alright.

Anyway, hope to see you at next month's adventures....until then, rock on and stay positive.
